Surrender to Soul

There is a lot happening in the world right now. Chaos might be an apt word. The future seems uncertain. Everything that used to seem so familiar now feels unsure. It’s as if we’re in a collective void of infinite possibilities.

What we choose to create – individually and collectively – will depend on how much responsibility we take for what put us in the situation to begin with. Simply trying to push things under the rug and “get back to normal” only creates underlying tension that’s sure to burst at some point.

The question to ask is: What needs resolving?

Globally, this might feel like too big a question to tackle. Individually, it’s still pretty overwhelming at times, but easier to do something about. After all, governments, institutions, and systems are simply a conglomerate of individuals.

As long as each individual agrees to uphold the system, it prevails. When individuals choose to withdraw their agreement, the system begins to disintegrate.

The same is true for our individual belief systems. Most of us have lived our lives according to what we have been told. It’s all we knew. It’s not until we start asking, “Why?” that we really begin to see the underlying principles guiding our beliefs.

This awareness brings choice: “Do I agree with this why?” “Will I continue to abide by this rule or standard?”

Almost always, conflict ensues when we withdraw our agreements to “the way things have always been.” Anyone who has ever been in an abusive relationship knows: The more you speak up or disagree, the greater the grasp for control. They’ll do almost anything to keep you where they want you to be. More violence perhaps. Definitely tension.

Then, another choice appears: “Will I curl back into my shell and submit so I feel ‘safe’?” “Will I keep retreating over and over and let the abuser maintain authority?” “Or will I realize that in order to create change, I must take uncomfortable steps and trust in my inner voice urging me to soul freedom?”

Trusting in the soul’s voice – which cannot be seen or even heard but only felt – is not easy, especially when it goes against what everybody else demands of us. We can’t even hear it, or access it, until we tune out all the other voices. It rises up in the silence. It requires us to turn our eyes inward away from everything else. It demands space, time, and devotion.

But when it’s felt, it’s undeniable. There’s no questioning, “Is this really it?” That’s usually just a thought or a should. The inner voice feels more like, “I know this with every fiber of my being no matter how much my mind tries to pretend it’s not there.”

In order to tread our way through the external changes we are all experiencing with as much grace, peace, and love as possible, we must access this deep soul voice. We must listen to our hearts. We must be willing to look within for truth to create something new.

The soul knows what can never be grasped or understood with the rational mind. It provides a perspective that is not limited to form, or to the known, or how things have been done in the past.

The soul opens us up to infinite possibility because it is infinite.

It requires a deep perspective shift. This is the kind of work I do with my clients and in my programs because it is the key to true transformation. When we step outside of our limited 3D human selves and into the realm of soul, we get to create new inner realities that – in time – create new external realities.

In the midst of the seeming chaos of upheaval and confrontation, the soul becomes the refuge. It knows how to lift us out of fear because it sees beyond one moment in time to an eternal truth.

My personal work is to continuously reunite with my soul through every aspect of my being – by aligning my beliefs, my actions, my choices, and my body to my soul’s truth. It holds the flame of love that will bring forth the peace and harmony we desire to experience in the world.

I trust my soul knows what I cannot know, and thus I allow it to guide me every single step of the way. Every day, I listen deeply.

Because in order for love to prevail in the world, it must prevail in each individual who makes up the world.

It starts with me. It starts with you. Right now.

Will you turn toward your soul?

Will you hear its voice?

Will you surrender to its truth?
